24-yr-old BPO employee had texted spouse to return or he would dedicate suicide; she answered, asking him to head forward

Just 25 days after his marriage, a 24-year-old BPO employee dedicated suicide, as he was not able to endure the harassment from his 19-year-old spouse. R Shankar, a resident of Halasuru, fed on poison, as his spouse had returned to her folks’ area after trying to pressurise him to transport out of his folks’ home.

Shankar is claimed to have been in relationship with Lakshitha, also a resident of Halasuru, prior to their wedding. Lakshitha returned to her folks’ area and is also said to have stopped answering his calls and replying to his messages. On Sunday, Shankar texted her, telling her that he was going to devour poison if she does not alternate her behaviour and go back to his area. He also despatched her a picture of the bottle of poison. But Lakshitha is claimed to have answered saying he may just die, which brought on him to devour the poison. A day after the suicide, Shankar’s father, Raju Rajan filed a case against his daughter-in-law and others. The police have registered a case of abetment of suicide under Section 306 of IPC against the victim’s spouse.

Shankar, a BBA graduate, had not too long ago began work at a BPO company in Marathahalli. Shankar and Lakshitha have been reportedly in love for the ultimate twelve months. The two got married at a sub-registrar’s administrative center on April 18 this year.

“My daughter-in-law’s brother and his associates beat up my son when the 2 have been in courtship. Lakshitha came to my area and said she would not go back to her folks’ area. Then the 2 got married at a temple, but their wedding was legalised simply 25 days again. As she stood through my son after the attack on him, I agreed for the wedding as each have been majors. After the wedding, she went to her folks’ area and began behaving weirdly supposedly on the behest of her members of the family. She kept harassing my son to make a separate area. My son was disturbed over the trends in his newly married life,” Rajan advised Mirror. Shankar was dissatisfied as his spouse avoided his calls and stopped replying to his messages. It is claimed that he had even stopped going for work for the last few days.

“My son dedicated suicide at the behest of his spouse. We may just see that he was disturbed. He did not reveal much about the variations between them. Only after his demise and going during the WhatsApp chats between them, we realised the amount of harassment he had gone through. A few minutes prior to taking the extreme step, he had texted her saying he may just not reside without her as he's fond of her. He had also messaged that if she did not go back, he would dedicate suicide and despatched her a picture of the bottle of poison. My daughter-in-law had replied asking him to die as she would be at liberty without him,” Rajan added.

Shankar called his buddies after consuming poison as he may just not endure the pain. His buddies took him to the Bowring Hospital but he died en course. The buddies then knowledgeable his folks about the suicide. “The case is being probed. The victim’s father has furnished some evidence to ascertain that his son had dedicated suicide on the behest of his daughter-in-law,” said an officer. The Halasuru police have registered a case.
