BHOPAL: In a new initiative to create ‘Kalam book-corners’ in executive colleges, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the training division of the state began the selection of pre-owned books in May. The initiative attracted quite a few organizations and folks expanding the book-collection through BMC to 70,000. The book-corners will quickly be inaugurated in primary, heart and high colleges of the city. The school training division in conjunction with the BMC has recognized around 200 heart and primary colleges of Bhopal for making the ‘Kalam book-corner’ and want to make the book-corner in 600 colleges of the city through the tip of the 12 months. The initiative will progressively be taken up in all executive colleges.

Throwing light at the initiative, BMC commissioner with additional price of district collector, B Vijay Datta, mentioned, “Many executive colleges of the state should not have sufficient books for college students of their library. We want to domesticate the dependancy of reading amongst kids because it goes some distance in studying.”

Irene Cynthia JP, director of Rajya Shiksha Kendra, advised TreadDailyNews that although all colleges already have book-corners, the extra books shape the BMC’s initiative will be added to the already current books in the colleges.

He added, “We thought of amassing used books of different topics and all genres to give to donate them to colleges and libraries of the city. Initially we had been aiming for only 20,000 books, but when the force turned into in style, we got 70,000 books and individuals are still coming with more books. The final day to submit the books is on June 15.”

“Once the BMC has finished amassing the books, they'll segregate them in line with categories, in order that we will distribute them in primary, heart and high colleges accordingly”, mentioned Cynthia. The book-distribution will get started in colleges after summer season holidays.
